Supply List:

  • Cotton Fabric:

  • 1-yard Top Fabric (cut and sewn together to make 14-inches x 50-inches long)

  • 1-yard backing fabric (cut and sewn together to make 14 inches x 50-inches long)

  • 1-yard ruffle edge (cut at 3-inch x width of Fabric)

  • (5) 10-inch x 8-inches (Bunny applique)

  • (5) 2-inch x 2-inch (button covers)

  • fusible fleece: 14-inches x 50-inches (or batting)

  • SF 101 Interfacing (14-inches x 50-inches and (5) 10-inch x 8-inches)

  • Sewing Machine

Instructions:

1. Cut your top cotton fabric to approx. 14-inches x 50-inches.

2. Cut your batting or fusible fleece to 14-inches x 50-inches and adhere to your top fabric.

3. On your top Fabric and your backing fabric, you want to round your corners. I used a lid to a glitter container and a fabric pen to trace around it and cut with scissors.

Applique Bunnies:

4. Print your template for your Bunny. You will see 2 templates, one facing left and one facing right. I alternated mine down the runner. I printed one for each bunny I was going to cut out.

5. Use your fabric that measures 10-inch x 8-inches. Using your Iron-Adhere your SF101 to the back of your fabric. Then on the back also adhere your Heat and Bond.

6. Trim your bunny template down to size and pin to your layers. And cut out.

7. After you cut out your bunny, use Fray Check along the edges of your bunny.

8. Repeat these steps for all 5 bunnies.

9. Peel the backing off your bunny and iron into place on your table runner topper.

10. Using your sewing machine. Sew around each bunny.

Ruffle Edge:

11. Cut 1 yard of fabric, to 3-inches x WOF (Width of fabric)

12. Sew each strip together and iron seams open. I finished each edge off by folding in and top stitching. This way, now raw edge is showing.

13. Fold your fabric in ½ and iron. This will create a long strip of approx. 1.5 inches x however long you made your strip.

14. Use a needle and thread to gather the raw edge to create the ruffle. If you have a ruffle foot for your sewing machine, you can use it to create your ruffle.

15. Use your pins or clips to clip your ruffle to the top of your table runner, Raw edge to Raw Edge. Overlap the beginning and the ending slightly.

16. Use your sewing machine and sew a 1/8th of an inch seam allowance all the way around. This helps hold your ruffle in place.

17. Take your backing fabric and lay right sides together to the top piece. Sew around and remember to leave approx. a 2-3 inch opening to turn your piece inside out.

18. Turn your tablecloth inside out. Tugging gently at the ruffle piece to get the edges out.

19. Fold the opening from the back inside, and either hand-stitch the opening closed or use your sewing machine to close the edge.

20. Iron your place mat and then sew a top stitch.

21. I used Fabric and Dritz 1 1/8-inch Craft Cover Buttons & Tools to make the bunny tails. I followed the instructions on the back of the package.

22. I used the inside circle of the circle template included as a template for the small circle to go on the back. I cut this out of white felt and adhered it with Hot Glue to the back of the button. (you can also use Liquid Stitch)

 23. Fold in the prong and then Hot Glued it to the tails on the table runner. (you can also use Liquid Stitch.
