Details
  • Item Number: 2045
  • This rotary cutter has a heavy-duty setting and tungsten steel blades

  • Soft-cushion handle reduces wrist strain and cutting fatigue and finger ridges provide firm grip and reduce slipping
  • It's pressure-sensitive: blade cover lifts when pressure is applied for cutting
  • Convenient: no opening and closing of blade between cuts
  • Safety lock for safe storage; There is no button to engage or release blade
  • Left- and right-hand use without changing the blade
  • Light- and heavy-duty settings with easy-to-change blade of the highest quality and maximum sharpness
Usage & Care

Usage Instructions:

  • The rotary cutter's blade is protected by a safety guard. The safety guard slides back when pressure is applied, exposing the blade to cut through the materials.
  • Once you lift the cutter from the surface, the guard slides back into place, covering the blade and providing protection.
  • The Omnigrid rotary cutter features a simple, easy-to-change blade replacement system. The molded parts only fit together one way, making it impossible to re-assemble incorrectly.
  • Always use a rotary cutting mat to protect not only your surface, but your blade

WARNING: Blade guard will expose blade if cutter is dropped.

Perfect for heavy fabrics like denim.

"I had never used a rotary cutter before trying this one. I don't sew or quilt or find myself cutting fabric or leather or other materials very often, but I do make purses, pillows, and other accessories from denim. I usually use a pair of strong Fiskars shears to cut up old pairs of jeans, but that's a lot of work and it's hard on my hands. This rotary cutter by Omnigrid makes the job so much easier! The blade on this tool is super sharp! You definitely need to be careful with it to keep from damaging it or yourself, but it really gets the job done. The blade is made from tungsten steel, so it's very durable and long-lasting. There's no button or other mechanism needed to expose the blade for use; you simply press it against your fabric and go. There's a safety guard that automatically covers the blade when not in use, but it pulls back to expose the blade when the tool is pressed against a flat surface. This cutter is suitable for righties and lefties alike, so virtually anybody can use it. The handle is ergonomically designed and comfortable to hold and use, and it has a textured grip for safety. I haven't had to change the blade yet, but I expect it should last a long while, and it's easy to remove and change. While the cutter can accommodate blades from any brand, apparently, I will stick with Omnigrid because it makes such short and easy work of the denim I need to cut. This is a fantastic tool, and I definitely recommend it to crafters and quilters!"

Excited

"I had been thinking of getting my mom a rotary blade, and I am excited I saw this one. I like the safety features, that it fits comfortably in the hand, and that it's easy to use. She doesn't struggle with using the rotary cutter and it's a lot easier on her than using scissors. Overall, great product."

Cuts ok

"I was using this to cut fabric along the edge of five bulletin boards for school. It cuts ok but I had to go back over some spots. I'm not sure if it dulled due to the bulletin board backing, but by the end it just wasn't cutting as smoothly as it had started. It still works fine but seems to need sharpening after one evening of use."

Smooth

"I use a rotary cutter to help with faster cutting on paper projects, so I go through them. This one cuts really smoothly, and it looks really sturdy. The handle cushion is a nice benefit versus the one I’ve been using."

Awesome tool

"I absolutely love this handy Omnigrid rotary tool. It has become one of my all time favorite things in my crafty room. It's very easy to use and it works great way better than using scissors. I would absolutely recommend this rotary tool."

So great!

"Rotary cutters are the only way to go when fabric is involved. I'm terrible at cutting straight lines so scissors are a nightmare. I much prefer a good rotary cutter and a ruler on a mat. It makes my life easier. So this one by Omnigrid, which feels great in the hand, is exactly what I needed. The blade is super sharp from go so you can get right into crafting or quilting or whatever it is you do! I love the safety mechanism. There's no push button like on most cutters to expose the blade. You just press down and the cover pulls back and off you go so there's no accidentally leaving it open (something I would totally do) and then picking it up wrong and hurting yourself. This is a great product and should definitely be a staple in your craft bag."

Great tool to have!

"This is a great tool to have for working with fabric. I have used for making of our seasonal holiday costumes. I've also used for my crafting projects. Cuts with ease. Perfect tools to add to me crafting kit."

Sharp and versatile

"As a woman of a mature age, using scissors can be quite challenging and uncomfortable. Especially when my hand hurt. Being left handed isn't a factor. As I mentioned, my hands hurt sometimes. This has caused me to drop what I'm holding. I don't have to worry about injuries as the blade retracts. I'm just getting back into sewing and haven't had any issues achieving an even cut, regardless of the heavy weight. Cuts the 1st time. Doesn't require much pressure for the cut, which is ideal."
