Step 4: Trim circle opening. TIP: keep layers pinned together around the circle so they don’t shift while trimming.

Stitch the circle

Step 5: Stitch ¼" around the circle opening on each fabric layer using a small stitch length.

Pin then stitch

Step 6: With right sides together, pin then stitch anchor pieces together using a ¼” seam allowance leaving a 3 ½” opening along the bottom edge for turning.

Step 7: Trim the corners and clip the curved seams, being careful not to cut through the stitches.

Turn the anchor

Step 8: Turn the anchor right side out and use a point turner to gently push out the corners and shape the edges.

Step 9: Snip circle seams, making sure not to clip stitches.

Step 10: Fold back snipped seams to wrong side of fabric along stitched line. Press in place. Make sure circle sizes are even.

Step 11: Pin the layers together around the circle opening, matching the folded seam edges. Stitch around the opening with a small stitch length to secure the layers. If needed, turn the anchor over and stitch again to make sure the opening is fully closed.
